Dr. Nickolai Slavchev graduated in “International Economic Relations” from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia. As of 2002 he holds a PhD in international economics. He has specialized pension reform strategy; coordination of social security schemes; and financial analysis in Europe, Japan and the USA. Since 1994 Dr. Nickolai Slavchev has been Chief Retirement Schemes Analyst with ALLIANZ Bulgaria Pension Company AD. He has been member of working groups on pension reform issues at PensionsEurope, local ministries, NGOs and industry associations, including the Bulgarian pension industry association; active participant in the national tripartite negotiation process on social issues as representative of nationally recognized employers’ organisations.
He has been a guest lecturer at major national and international pension forums organized by renowned organizations, some of which are: WorldPensionSummit (The Hague 2019), D.A. Dr. Nickolai Slavchev also delivered a series of lectures in International Retirement Provision Relations at the VUZF University in Sofia. He has more than 50 publications in the national and international press (including IPE magazine, Global Pensions, XPRIMM, Pensions International etc.).
In 2006 he received a Honorary Award by the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association for exceptional contribution to the improvement of the Bulgarian social and economic environment.
